WiD110 supports 802.11b and 802.11g. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Is WiD110 connection secure? |
| |
Yes, WiD110 supports login code protection for accessing this device, and supports WEP (64 & 128-bit) for transmission security. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Does WiD110 only work wirelessly? |
| |
Wired or wireless connections can both be use to present on the WiD110. |
| |
|
| Q. |
What is the wireless range of WiD110? |
| |
The distance of wireless transmission is normally up to 250-ft outdoor and 150-ft indoor, but depends on network environment, network traffic rate and quality of network connection. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Can I go to the internet if I’m connected to the WiD110? |
| |
Yes, WiD110 allows browsing internet while projecting computer screen if you have local network or DSL/Cable modem connected to WiD110's LAN port. |
| |
|
| |
The WiD110 will act as an access point for the internet connection or network with the ability to be the DHCP server, allow another device on the network to be the DHCP server, or static IP configuration. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Does the WiD110 serve as a DHCP server? |
| |
By default the WiD110 is setup as a DHCP server for those who connect, but when connected to a LAN, it can be setup to allow another device on the LAN to be the DHCP server and also supports static IP configuration. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Can the WiD110 exist on my existing network? |
| |
Yes, the WiD110 will act as an access point for the network with the ability to be the DHCP server, allow another device on the network to be the DHCP server, or static IP configuration. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Can I connect wirelessly to my network and still stream video wirelessly? |
| |
Yes, you can connect your network to the WiD110’s LAN port and the WiD110 will act as an access point to the network as well as allow you to stream video wirelessly. |
| |
|
| Q. |
What happens to my LAN connection if I’m streaming wirelessly to the WiD110? |
| |
Your wired LAN connection will not function as usual unless you are streaming to the WiD110 through your wired LAN connection or if you are accessing your LAN wirelessly through the WiD110. |
| Q. |
Does WiD110 and WiD111 support any other data encryption or security besides WEP? |
| |
Currently WiD110 (or WiD111) supports WEP security. If the device is on LAN and you are worried about people accessing LAN with WEP, first try 128-bit WEP or get an access point that provides LEAP or other higher grade security and make this device a wired device on that access point. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Can I disable wireless portion (gateway) feature of WiD110 (or WiD111)? |
| |
WiD110 allows disabling gateway feature for wireless access on WiD110, so that it can be a LAN resource and provide video projection over LAN (video over ip). WiD111 does not allow disabling gateway feature yet. |

|
| Q. |
How can I show a single Computer or notebook to two displays simultaneously and wirelessly at native resolution (aka best picture quality)? |
| |
Sending a single computer or notebook's video signal wirelessly to two displays (Projector, Plasma or LCD or monitor) is not possible due to limitations in 802.11g networking standard and TCP/IP structure.
It can be achieved using a combination of Wireless and Wired solution (using existing standard CAT5e or CAT6 cable for VGA over UTP)
Notebook clients connect wirelessly or through access point (if LAN port on WiD110 is connected to existing data network) and send VGA-XGA-WXGA signal via 802.11g/b to Teq AV/IT's WiD110 Wireless Video Receiver. VGA output of WiD110 is connected to TPY-Transmitter that connects to Projector and sends VGA over CAT5 to TPY-Receiver located up to 500ft /1000-ft away. TPY Receiver's output is connected to second display's input for simultaneous display of wireless notebook computer on projector and LCD/Plasma and is free to move around anywhere within the room (up to 150-ft radius). |
| |
|
| Q. |
How does the WiD110 work? |
| |
Through 802.11b and 802.11g wireless technology, the WiD110 software captures your screen image and sends it wirelessly to the WiD110 receiver. Then, the WiD110 receiver outputs your PC screen to the projector |
| |
|
| Q. |
What is the difference between Ad-hoc and Infrastructure mode? |
| |
Ad-hoc allows you to connect from the computer directly to the projector. Your wireless card has a dedicated connection to the WiD110 receiver and cannot access other wireless networks. |
| |
|
| |
Infrastructure allows you to connect from the computer through your wireless network to the projector. This allows you to simultaneously access other wireless network resources as you utilize the WiD110 receiver. |
| |
|
| Q. |
How many people can use WiD110 at the same time? |
| |
Only one person can make presentation at a time. But WiD110 allows up to 24 clients to connect at the same time and wait their turn for projection. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Can the WiD110 support a video clip? |
| |
WiD110 supports video mode for playback MPG, MPEG, DAT, VOB, WMV9, and ASF video. For best video playback performance, 802.11g is recommended and actual performance will vary depending on environment. |
| |
|
